it's a late thursday, i've got a lot on my mind. so i guess i'll just blog my cares away.
this past tuesday i got the grand experience to go see president OBAMA at ODU. i was sooooo excited. so i got two free tickets,
convinced my friend roderick, or rj to go. of course, he was more than willing.
it was a kind of spur of the moment thing. a professor was giving away 250 free tickets. when i got there he only had 4 left. cool, right ?? even tho the weather was sucky, which made my hair yucky, i still made that trip to norfolk.
when we got there the line was sooooooooooooooo long. we talked to this man while we stood. he was pretty cool.
&& we saw this thing you see below. c'mon black people. . .we got to do better. who let they grama out looking like this ?!?!?!?
anywhoo, the plot thickens. as rj && i were standing there, we ran into our friends jamocha && bobby !! they knew people who were dang near at the front of the line !! so we headed up there && got AMAzingggggg seats. i was toooooo exicted.
once we got in we talked, ate, && waited. after all the other people who talked got out there, finally OBAMA came out !!
it was great !! he is such a great speaker. && funny too !! he said: "just like you did for me, get out there && tell yo cousin pookie to get out there && vote !! "
the crowd loved him !! it was pretty deep as you can see. but i know some may wonder why i don't have more pics. . . .can you believe a blogger like myself FORGOT MY CAMERA ?!?
i was sooooo disappointed in me. . . tisk, tisk. either way i had a great time && i will always remember it.
soo, i've been holding off for a while now but i think i will finally tell the,
former roommate story !!
yessss. so it goes a little something like this. once upon a time i moved in to 409 in moton hall. my roommate was junky, had horrible shedding weave, && always forgot her key at 3 am.
now these were things i could get over. but as the plot thickens, i had to get out !! first. . .when i was away at a MANDATORY meeting in the beginning of the year, i actually cared. soooo i put on some make up && went to the meeting. i returned only to see that my roommate did not attend. i could care less but as she was about to leave the room after she finished caking makeup on her unbecoming face she said, "this isn't my eyeliner, is this yours ??"
i looked up from my computer && LORD behold it was !! she quickly exited && five minutes later. . . .it sunk in. my brain said, "robin i think this trick used your eyeliner !!"
with no hard evidence. . .the GOD in me just let it slide. . . .
[two weeks later]
another MANDATORY meeting comes along && by this point i no longer cared what hampton had to say to me. . .but then they came out with slips that said you were there. soooo, i decided to go. of course, my roommate opted out on going. but me, being the nice person i was said i would get her a slip.
so as i go && return from the boring whatever && enter my room, i give my roommate the slip && get on my computer. she once again quickly exits the room. i open up my precious Maxie [my computer] && get on facebook.
i saw unfamiliar things, && had a ton of messages from people i did not know. i thought to myself, "no she didn't'. but as i pressed home, Maxie revealed to me that THAT MESSY, UGLY, JUNKY, WEAVE WEARING, UGLY, DID I SAY JUNKY ?? anywhoo she was using my computer !!
that was the last straw. soooo to sum it up. i got my ish && moved out. didn't even tell the ratchetttttttttt. && that was that, now i am in a new room with an improved roommate !!
the end !! =).
well, today's food for thought comes from the man running for governor that i saw on tuesday, creigh deeds. he said this, "people love to over exaggerate your demise." the more i thought about it. . .the more i understood. if it isn't enough for people to be unhappy with your success, they love to elaborate on your shortcomings or falls. they know every detail as if it overshadows the good that they are most likely jealous of. . .all i can say is let the hot gas they are giving off power you to do what you do best: YOU !!
before i go i would just like to shout out my little sister ilaria a. jones or ari !! we are like two peas in a pod. i love this girl to no end. i miss her even 35 mins away. i know she got my back whether it be with a listening ear or a hammer in her fashionable bag. either way i couldn't live with out her. here's to you ari !!
