soo its a rainy monday night. i started classes today !! they were pretty cool. it was the wet weather && the fact my hair exploded every time i stepped out a building that made the day a tad frustrating. or maybe the fact that my umbrella flipped up at the drop of a dime. let's just say going natural is harder than i thought && i'm glad to be in my room.

friday i became an official hamptonian. i was escorted to the induction ceremony by this lovely young man, james. the other girl is jessica.

after that tho i kicked of my heels && later on that night i headed back to the place i loved, HOME !! i combed my curls out. . .

soo the next day i washed my hair. i finally got to see how my hair was really cut. && after an hour of curling. . . .

my hair was done !! i really like the new doo. what ya'll think ??

so after i was pretty again, i was ready to hit the scene !!

tonisha came && got meee !! we were supposed to go to the norfolk state vs. virginia state game, but kinda didn't make it.

sooo instead this group of girls headed to sip && bowl instead. a party at the bowling alley basically. everyone thought it was going to be whack, but it was my idea to go so you know that wasn't the case, jay kayyy. but it was funn tho.

before we hit that scene tho, i had to update my padres on the latest dance moves. check that hair swing tho, lol.

anywhoo, bowling was funnnn. the new crew was there minus koron. [ant in the back]

there was a dj there, so you know i was happy !! i displayed some signature moves,

&& took pics with some of my favorite people,

when they weren't tied up with alllllllll the bait !! haha, so basic.

sunday, i spent time with my famm. the love of my life, lil simone came overrrr.

it's always good to spend time with the ones you ♥♥ !!

today's food for thought comes from some advice i recently gave to my friend chris h. he said he was going through hell. so today's thought is this. doesn't it seem like sometimes the best things come out of the worst situations ?? sometimes you have to go through hell just to experience && more importantly appreciate the heaven you receive in return. a wise man once said you have to look beyond the circumstances you see right now !!

sooooo, it's september now. last time i checked in, my head was rough to saying goodbye to my braids/african queen twists!! haa.

but you know i couldn't leave it rough for long. you can't really tell, but i cut my hair. just stage 2 of this going natural thing.

i'm still falling head over heels in ♥♥ for none other than, yes. . . .my macbook pro!!!! haha.

but, anywhoooo. i was sooo tired about hearing about everyone else being in college. but my time came. august 29th has came && went.

well i packed my dreams, my aspirations, my hopes, but most importantly my stuff!! && went to start my journey of higher education.

after twenty-five minutes we arrived to hampton && i moved in. there's not too much to it. but never really realized how anti-social i was until i got here. i have yet to make a "girl" associate that i feel comfortable hanging around with. && to make matters worst almost everyone was here during the summer for "pre-college" so everyone basically knows each other, ugh.

sooooo, me being me, && a good buddy, i became the only girl out of a group of four.

this is me!! of course. nothing really to say that you don't already know. same ol Rob, in a new kind of world.

this is Travis!! a friend from high school. i met him during my debutante. && we've been cool ever since. he was even my senior prom date. i'm glad he goes here, cuz i would be lost without him. he's cool tho, gotta put a praise on him, haa.

next we have Koron. he's a basketball player from Philly. he's a great singer too! he eats a looooot && got alllllllllllll the bait, lol. but he's pretty cool.

lastly we have Clayton, or C3. i knew he was trouble from the start, jay kay. but he's from Cali. i think he has been the meanest to me soo far, lol. he likes to jerk and if i got a dollar for every time someone asked him to teach them how, i'd be rich. he keeps calling me jerry because of my curls, ugh. but overall he's cool too.

i eat breakfast with these guys, walk just about everywhere, && even work out with them!! lol.

now i know some must be thinking, "what about your roommate robin??"

i'm glad you asked. i will post a pic of her next time i promise, but she's. . . . .just not someone i would hang with. she's okay, don't get me wrong but we have some major differences.

now i must admit my desk is a little junky from cords && new papers && such, but. . .

at least i don't have my side looking like this. come on now?!?

&& she has these tracks in that shed all over the floor. so guess what i did?? i got the broom && swept it alllll on to her side of the room. i refuse to clean up after her. but like i said, she's okay. nothing tooo personal, just not my crowd. she has her own friends anyway, cuz she went to pre college.

today's food for thought are three simple indicators for how you know when you are at a HBCU. [historically black college/university] for the acronymally impared!

Number One: you know you are at a hbcu when they give you a comb, brush, && scarf in your orientation packet!!!!! only black people.

Number Two: you know you are at a hbcu when people rep their dorms like gangs. "HARKNESS!!! TWITCHELL!! MOTON!!! JAMES!!!" i guess it's school spirit tho, lol.

Number Three: you know you are at a hbcu when you register for your computers && they tell you that you can't have limewire, frostwire, etc. but then then they pop in a dvd to watch while we all wait. what dvd you ask?? transformers two!! no limewire, but bootlegs are okay??

gotta love it tho. i must admit although i haven't even been here a full week yet, college is the most funny, interesting, free, && even loneliest place. to me, that is. but hey, let's see what happens when classes start.

no matter how i feel i'll always keep a smile on my face. a wise person once said: "smile to keep from crying, it really works." i guess thas what i'll do!!
